About OCPA
The Organization of Calypso Performing Artistes (OCPA) is a registered non‑profit arts organization founded in 1981 to guide the growth and development of the calypso in Toronto and Canada.
OCPA presents a year-round programme of activities that include concerts, workshops, seminars, and special events featuring Canadian and international Calypso and Soca artists.
OCPA is proud to have featured in his productions some of the top international artists like David Rudder, Calypso Rose, Brother Valentino, Lord Superior, Aaron Duncan, Alexander D’ Great, Sheldon Skeete and Canadian calypso performing and recording artists, such as Jayson (1991 JUNO Award winner), Structure, Macomere Fifi, Beginner, Victorio, Lady Pearl, Guney, Connector, Mon-T-Hama, Crooner, Susan G, Rajiman, King Cosmos, Dick Lochan, Delee, and Drew Gonsalves (Kobo Town). Many of the OCPA member / performers have starred in shows and competitions in the Caribbean and the USA. OCPA can count among its ranks several winners of the annual calypso competitions in Ottawa, New York and Miami.
OCPA affairs are conducted by a volunteer Board of Directors, and is one of the primary stakeholders of the Toronto Caribbean Carnival – one of North America’s largest Caribbean festivals.
