CALYPSO WORKSHOP (Sans Humanité)

An Indoor Free Event

This workshop is a first for OCPA, also done in partnership with HTC. Participants will learn the rudiments of composing an 8-line calypso, using a standard melody that is more than 100 years old. It will introduce participants to Extempo, one of the earliest forms of Calypso, sung in the minor key. It will be acoustic (guitar accompaniment) and conducted by one or more OCPA members, who will perform on the WestJet Stage afterwards. At the conclusion, participants will have the opportunity to perform their song for one another. It will be limited to approximately 25 participants, on first-come, first-served basis.
